Gold Up On Short Covering, Some Bargain Hunting

Gold prices are modestly higher to start the new trading week Monday. Short covering by the futures traders and some light bargain hunting are featured, following recent solid selling pressure that drove prices to a nine-month low last week. December Comex gold was last up $6.90 at $1,222.30 an ounce. Spot gold was last quoted up $1.60 at $1,221.50. December Comex silver last traded up $0.043 at $17.58 an ounce.
